【Introduction of New Technology】 Newly Developed Probe with Machined Pd Alloy Barrel

NEWS_2408_1.png

Rika Denshi Co., Ltd. has developed a new probe utilizing a machined Pd alloy barrel as a key component (hereafter referred to as "Dev."). This probe offers notable advantages such as "stable resistance" and "long life" compared to conventional Cu alloy-based machined Au-plated barrel probes (hereafter referred to as "Conv.").

Product Features

〇 No plating is required on the barrel, thereby eliminating the risk of resistance degradation due to plating wear on the barrel's inner surface.
⇒ Ensures stable resistance and extended product life.

〇 The barrel wall thickness can be reduced compared to conventional products (15 μm on each side).
⇒ Resulting in improved contact resistance through increased spring force and enhanced mechanical durability.

〇 The Pd alloy barrel exhibits non-magnetic properties, making it suitable for use in non-magnetic probe applications.

〇 The hardness of the Pd alloy barrel can be adjusted through heat treatment, utilizing age-hardening materials.
⇒ Customizable to meet specific application requirements, whether prioritizing resistance stability or mechanical strength.

Specification Comparison

Although the minimum resistance is slightly lower compared to conventional products, it demonstrates superior long-term performance due to its minimal resistance deviation and reduced resistance degradation.
